VENCER O PRÓXIMO ROUND

"Peleja a boa peleja da fé, apodera-te da vida eterna, para a qual foste chamado..." (1 Timóteo 6:12).

"A Era moderna do boxe completa hoje 105 anos. No dia 7 de setembro de 1892, John Lawrence Sullivan e James J. Corbett disputavam pela primeira vez uma luta de boxe válida pela categoria dos pesos pesados, utilizando luvas de cinco onças.

Com a criação das novas regras - o máximo estabelecido era de 25 roundes - e a obrigatoriedade da utilização de luvas, os promotores da época escolheram o campeão John L. Sullivan para enfrentar James J. Corbett.

A luta foi realizada no Pelican Athletic Club, em New Orleans, Louisiana, Estados Unidos. Após 21 roundes, Corbett combinou um jab de esquerda com um direto de direita. Sullivan caiu e ouviu a contagem do juiz John Duffy." (Estado de S. Paulo-07/09/97)

Quando as coisas não iam bem para Corbett, ele usava um lema que ele mesmo criou: "Lute mais um round".

Muitas vezes lamentamos e reclamamos ser a nossa vida apenas de lutas.

Mal nos livramos de uma e eis que outra se nos apresenta. O que fazer então?

Se levarmos em conta a quantidade de batalhas em nosso caminho, não teremos forças para enfrentá-las, mas se enchermos nosso coração de fé, olharmos para cima e segurarmos nas mãos de Jesus, então encararemos cada batalha como se fosse a última, confiando que próximo estamos da vitória final.

Os que duvidam e desistem jamais chegarão a lugar nenhum.

A vitória será sempre dos que crêem e seguem em frente.

"The modern era of boxing completes 105 years today. On September 7, 1892, John Lawrence Sullivan and James J. Corbett fought the first time a boxing match valid for the heavyweight category, using gloves, five ounces.

With the creation of new rules - the maximum set was 25 roundes - and the mandatory use of gloves, the time prosecutors have chosen champion John L. James J. Sullivan to face Corbett.

The fight was held at the Pelican Athletic Club in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. After 21 roundes, Corbett combined a left jab with a straight right. Sullivan fell and heard the score of Judge John Duffy. "(Estado de S. Paulo -07/09/97)

When things were not going well for Corbett, he wore a motto he created, "Fight one more round."

Often we regret and we call our lives be just struggles.

We barely got rid of one another and behold before us. What then?

If we take into account the amount of battles in our way, we will not have the strength to face them, but if we fill our hearts with faith, we look up and hold the hands of Jesus, then can we tackle every battle as if it were the latter, trusting that we are near the final victory.

The doubters will never give up and get anywhere.

The victory will always be those who believe and move on.
